COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Learning Journeys for people

Our Community Education program centralizes community-based and re-Indigenized thinking for curious learners of all identities. Participants walk away with deepened understandings of healing and reconciliation, tools with which to be of better service to community, and topic-specific teachings in support of good relationships between all Peoples.

  • An online workshop series that acts as a catalyst to ongoing learning, taking participants on an exploratory journey of personal, familial, and community healing and reconciliation.

  • An opportunity for personal and professional development, the Facilitator Training introduces interested and qualified individuals to HRI’s client-serving approach to facilitation and peacemaking.

  • A series of one-hour, single-subject, interactive presentations that dive straight to the heart of relevant, timely, and sometimes tangled ideas, events, and foods for thought.

INDIGENOUS GOVERNANCE SUPPORT

Centering Native Sovereignty

“Right” governance is not an isolated activity, and true leadership requires support, community, and trust. HRI serves Indigenous leadership, prioritizing federally un-recognized Indigenous Nations in California, by sharing tools that allow Nations to meet the needs of their People

  • HRI provides personalized coaching to help Indigenous changemakers uplift their inherited and inherent gifts, preparing them for a lifetime of modern leadership

  • Facilitated healing and reconciliation circles within and between Indigenous-led organizations and/or Indigenous Nations

  • Creating accessibility to the laws, policies, and procedures that govern the Western communities co-existing with First Nations. This expertise is offered through workshops that effectively and successfully help Natives engage with state, federal, and local non-Indigenous partners.

  • Pulling from the principles of natural law, governance composition, and 501c3 compliance, HRI helps Nations further their sovereign goals by weaving together Indigenous and legal governance models.

PEACEMAKING

Bridge-building between worldviews

  • By utilizing a healing-centered framework to improve collaboration and relationships between potential community partners, HRI promotes lasting progress, success, and positive change between groups committed to working together effectively. We call this “radical bridge-building.”

  • By using principles of non-violent communication and peacemaking in facilitated conversations, we promote trust and strengthen long-term relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups for the betterment of people, community, and environment.
